TECHNICALITY TITTLE SCREEN

I created this screen for a short promo for drum and bass night called technicality. The glitchy 3D footage was obtained from a late 80s 3D showcase reel. After cutting the footage and placing it in a 1080p comp I created a circle mask and feathered it by roughly 60 pixels. The footage was speed up by 200% and frames removed to give a glitchy effect. I then added glow via the effects panel. The text was added after with the boxes having a mask applied containing the interference and noise. This was manually created (rather then using a filter) by stitching together still frames from the same reel as the old wireframe footage. This project took a matter of hours and for something that took such little time i'm very pleased with lo-fi grungy feel. I was influenced by many things including the current trend for VHS and other old format looks as well as some of the earlier fabric live promos.

TECHNICOLOUR & KOMATIC INTERVIEW!!!

Nultiply and myself managed to bag an interview with two of our favourite DJ's and producers Technicolour & Komatic. We had a lot of fun so please tune in to see some great questions on all things d&b, me and Nultiply get our arses kicked at table football and find out who would win in a fight between a bear and a shark.

SAMPLING A VISUAL METAPHOR

New art work for the NU:SOUNDS record label. About 70% of the way there I'm yet to composite DJ NULTIPLY who is the owner and publisher for NU:SOUNDS records. The idea behind this piece is a visual representation of sampling. The fragmented and distorted samples are collected on one side of the machine where they are produced by Nultiply and reappear as a smooth wave (the completed song) out the other side of the machine. Inspired by Wallace & Gromit, steam and cyber punk and early 90s kids films like honey I shrunk the kid's.

My latest Photoshop offering. A German WW1 steam punk beetle tank. Inspired by the helmet that makes the shell. Created from hand drawn elements combined with period photos all blended together with Photoshop.

JUST KEEP RUNNING

Ok so after so many interviews and unpaid work I finally scored a job as runner with the lovely people at Th1ng
(pronounced thing 1) The branch has many sister companies including th2ng and flux. The studio deals with a diverse range of media including stop motion, 2d, hand drawn, live action, motion graphics and many more. Im really excited at the possibilities of working across these departments I was worried after uni that I would have to chose something to specialize in. So far so good, a great team and very friendly atmosphere. I'm still freelancing in the evening and at weekends so please feel free to contact me regarding commissions.
